How can I be saved?

How can I be saved?

What is Salvation?

Salvation is deliverance from sin brought by faith in Jesus Christ.

John 3:16-17 - "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son,

that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world;

but that the world through him might be saved."

Why do we need Salvation?

Everyone will physically die, but your soul will live forever.

Those who have not excepted God’s free gift of salvation

(been saved) will spend eternity in punishment.

Hebrews 9:27 - "And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment.”

Revelation 20:15 - "And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire."

John 3:3 - "Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God."

How can I be Saved?

1. First realize your lost condition and admit you are a sinner.

Romans 3:10, Romans 3:23, I John 1:8, Isaiah 64:6, Ecclesiastes 7:20, Romans 5:12

2. Next, understand that the price of sin brings God’s wrath and judgement.

Romans 1:18, Romans 6:23, John 3:36, Revelation 20:14

3. Realize that you can’t save yourself.

Titus 3:5,6, Romans 3:20, Ephesians 2:8,9, Galatians 2:16

4. Salvation is in Jesus Christ alone.

Acts 4:12, John 14:6, I Timothy 2:5, Hebrews 10:10, John 8:24

5. We are saved by faith in Jesus Christ.

Acts 16:31, John 3:18, Galatians 3:26, Romans 10:9

Your works will not save you. Water baptism will not save you. Church membership will not save you. Sacraments will not save you. Tithing will not save you.  Being a “good” person will not save you.

Salvation is found in Jesus Christ alone, plus nothing.
